Chez Bouillon sits peacefully in Vielle Adour, a working village at the foot of the Pyrénées mountains. It lies in the Gascony district, which is home to Lourdes, Pau, Bagnères de Bigorre and Tarbes. The charming village displays a pleasant mix of typically French grand farmhouses, old workers cottages and new family homes, and offers many quiet walking routes along the trickling stream and through the gently-sloping hills nearby.

Chez Bouillon lies between Tarbes and Bagnères de Bigorre, and is easily reached from the local airports at Pau, Lourdes, Tarbes, Biarritz and Toulouse, which are regularly served by the 'no-frills' airlines.

Being near the mountains, the village is ideally placed to enjoy the best of the local weather. The Pyrénées catches the heavy snow, providing spectacular wintry scenes - but the village is left unaffected by the flurries, so driving around is never a problem, and ski resorts can still be reached, although some of the smaller mountain roads will be closed during this time. The snow stays for a large proportion of the year up in the mountains, so the ski season is always busy. In summer, the area is blessed with a typical southern-French climate of hot sunshine and blue skies, so barbeques will be plentiful!

With an average of 300 days, 2,000 hours of sunshine a year, the Midi-Pyrénées  is one of the sunniest regions of France.  The village has a very moderate climate compared to the extremes of the nearby mountains and beach resorts, a short drive away. But even in summer, the high altitudes in the Pyrénées mean that it still gets very chilly, so it's recommended that guests pack for cold and hot temperatures if they plan to make use of both the mountains and the lowlands.
