Once dilapidated and barely
standing, the 18th-century farmhouse has been brought to life again
by its proud (and hard-working!) owners, Belinda and Phil, who moved to France
in July 2007 to begin the renovation project. Using the stone La Petite Maison
as a starting point, the pair single-handedly re-roofed it and re-built the
interior, managing to save the original hand-sawn wooden boarded floor. Phil
built a new rustic staircase from a tree trunk, and installed a wood-burner,
which kept the resident golden retriever content in the winter months!
Happy with La Petite Maison, which is now available to rent as a self-catering gite, Belinda and Phil began the mammoth task of renovating the farmhouse.

| This also needed a new roof,
floors and new windows upstairs, and the interior had to be thoroughly worked
on, making sure that all of the beams still supported the floors. Whilst
maintaining the original features, the property has been elegantly decorated, boasting
quaint beams, wooden window shutters and sloping ceilings (in the upstairs
rooms). After all their hard work, the couple are pleased to open their doors
to guests- who are sure to appreciate the finished product!
